The General Secreatariat of the Prince Salman Award for Disability Research is pleased to announce that it is extending the nomination period for the Award in its first cycle (2009-2012) for an additional year.
The Award will be bestowed on researchers who have contributed to the field of disability and who have had a significant impact on it, in addition to fulfilling the conditions stated in Article 6 of the Award's byelaws. Nominations will be accepted solely from local, regioanl, and international research and scientific organizations; societies and agencies dealing with disabled individuals; and academic departments, faculties, and universities. Nominations from individuals will not be accepted.
The Award will be granted in the following three disability research topics:
1. Health and Medical Sciences.
2. Pedagogical and Educational Sciences.
3. Rehabilitative and Social Sciences.
The winners will be invidted to Saudi Arabia to participate in a special awards ceremony where each winner will receive a certificate attesting the endeavors that led to to his or her nomination, a gold medallion, and a SR250,000 prize.
