The Gap Reports Committee at King Salman Center for Disability Research held its second meeting in the Board of Trustees Hall at the Center, with members also joining via Microsoft Teams, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The meeting comes as part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to identify and analyze priority research gaps in the field of disability.
The meeting began with a review of the recommendations approved in the first meeting, followed by brief presentations from several committee members addressing key challenges faced by persons with disabilities across various related sectors. These presentations drew on members’ scientific and field expertise, with the aim of enriching the discussion and broadening perspectives.
The committee also discussed the adopted methodology for identifying priority gaps, emphasizing the importance of adhering to scientific standards to ensure transparency and accuracy in preparing the final report. The meeting further reviewed the proposed model for the analytical survey, designed to systematically collect and analyze data in line with the committee’s objectives, along with discussions on the implementation plan, distribution mechanisms, target groups, and the proposed timeline.
This meeting represents a step within a series of systematic efforts led by the Center to enhance the quality of scientific studies and research, and to develop national databases in the field of disability. These efforts aim to support evidence-based policymaking and guide initiatives toward achieving a comprehensive and effective impact.
