The Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research Holds Its Ninth Meeting

The Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, discussed preparations for the 7th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, the King Salman International Award for Disability Research, and the AI Hackathon for Persons with Disabilities.

The Board approved a package of policies and decisions aimed at strengthening the Center’s scientific and national role, and enhancing its efficiency in developing research and translating its results into solutions that serve persons with disabilities.

Scientific Research Towards a Tangible Impact

The Board approved the support and governance policy for research programs and scientific activities, and reviewed the Center’s scientific achievements during the third quarter of 2026, as well as the results of the stakeholder satisfaction survey; contributing to directing programs toward actual priorities and maximizing their scientific and societal impact.

Governance and Institutional Sustainability

The decisions included regulating the relationship with beneficiaries and partners, defining authorities, control mechanisms, and evaluation processes, as well as approving financial, investment, and resource management policies; thereby enhancing transparency, elevating service quality, and supporting the sustainability of the Center’s operations.

The Board also followed up on the developments of the Center’s new building project, as a future pillar for expanding research, innovation, and building scientific partnerships.

These decisions reaffirm the direction of the King Salman Center for Disability Research toward solidifying its scientific standing and developing research- and knowledge-based solutions that contribute to prevention, rehabilitation, empowerment, and improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Board: Dr. Mohammed bin Khalid Al-Abd Al-Aali (Assistant Minister of Health for Health Affairs); H.E. Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Al-Fayadh (CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre); Eng. Mubarak bin Abdullah Al-Khafrah (Board Member and representative of National Industrialization Company [TASNEE] as a founding member of the Center); Sarah bint Essam Al-Muhaidib (CEO of Abdulkadir Al Muhaidib Social Foundation); Jomana bint Rashid Fahad Al-Rashid (CEO and Board Member of Saudi Research and Media Group); Abdulaziz bin Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sons of Abdul Hadi Abdullah Al-Qahtani Holding Group, and representative of the Group as a founding member of the Center); Dr. Talal bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi (Senior Vice President for Research and Development at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology); Yasser bin Hassan Abbas Sharbatly (Board Member of the Hassan Abbas Sharbatly Foundation for Community Service, and representative of the Foundation as a founding member); and Dr. Fahad bin Ali Al-Olayan (Senior Vice President and Head of the Sustainability and Social Responsibility Group at Bank AlJazira).
