His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, issued a decision to appoint Prof.Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz AlTamimi as Secretary-General of the Center, in support of the center's scientific goal and to activate the development strategies in the next phase.
Dr. AlTamimi expressed his pride and appreciation for the precious trust of HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman. He stressed that he would work hard to meet HRH’s aspirations to develop the center’s work and raise the efficiency of the interim and future plans in accordance with the position of this unique center in its scientific role as the first research institution specialized in the fields of disability in the Middle East.
Dr. Ahmed AlTamimi obtained his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Early Intervention from The University of Northern Colorado, USA.
AlTamimi has held many senior administrative responsibilities at King Saud University, including the chancellor and general supervisor of the Office of His Excellency the Dean and secretary of the University's Board of Deans. He was assigned as an official spokesman for King Saud University. Dr. Tamimi also served as Executive Director of the Children with Disability Association.
AlTamimi's appointment to succeed the Center's Executive Director, Dr. Ola Abusukkar, is part of the expansion of the center's ambitious development plans, with the aim of raising the efficiency of achievements in the field of theoretical and applied studies in order to achieve a number of strategic objectives to serve the issue of disability in the Kingdom.
