His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, met with the Chair and members of the King Salman International Award for Disability Research Committee. During the meeting, His Royal Highness reviewed the progress of the Award's fourth cycle, which is being held as part of the Seventh International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation under the gracious patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Award is one of the world's leading honors dedicated to disability research. Named after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, it reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing scientific research and innovation in the field of disability.
Award Supreme Board
The Award's Supreme Board is chaired by H.E. Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development. Its members include H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Hayaza, President of Alfaisal University; H.E. Dr. Enas bint Sulaiman Al-Issa, Vice Minister of Education; Eng. Mohammed bin Musaed Al Saif, Founding Member of the Center; Yasser bin Hassan Abbas Sharbatly, Founding Member of the Center; Abdullah bin Abdul Latif Al Fozan, Founding Member of the Center; Abdulmoneim bin Rashid Al Rashid, Founding Member of the Center; Dr. Badr bin Saad Al-Hajhouj, Chief Executive Officer of the King Salman Center for Disability Research; and Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Jughaiman, Member, Secretary-General of the Award, and Chair of the Award Committee.
Progress of the Fourth Cycle
The meeting reviewed the implementation stages of the Award Secretariat's operational plan, the overall statistics for the fourth cycle, the progress of the scientific committees, and the outcomes of the evaluation process across the Award's various categories. Discussions also covered the remaining milestones for completing the current cycle. The Award continues to strengthen its international standing by attracting outstanding research and applying rigorous scientific standards in evaluating nominated work.
Global Participation Reflects Growing Impact
The fourth cycle attracted widespread international participation, receiving submissions from more than 111 countries. Researchers from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Australia submitted outstanding work, while leading scientists and distinguished researchers from around the world competed across the Award's five main categories: Health and Medical Sciences, Psychological and Educational Sciences, Social and Rehabilitation Sciences, Technological Applications, and Universal Access. This broad participation further reinforces the Award's reputation as one of the world's foremost honors in disability research.
