About

Over thirty years ago, H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Children with Disabilities Association (CDA), saw the dire need to overcome the scientific research gap that confronts understanding, prevention, and rehabilitation of disabilities in Saudi Arabia. The idea was then carried out and nurtured by the humanitarian custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the founder of the King Salman Center for Disability Research.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (known back then as the Ministry of Social Development) approved the Center’s establishment on 24/01/1412H, to be the building block of H.R.H.’s goodwill. In which he aims to serve all segments of society, and particularly individuals with disabilities, which led to the great care and continuous support of H.R.H. until it became one of the few centers that deals with scientific research specializing in disability in the Arab and Islamic world.

The Center receives close care from his Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Center’s Board of Trustees, and with active contributions from generous founders and philanthropists who strongly believe in the importance of social responsibility and who have chosen to participate in supporting the center’s research programs and projects.

The Center applies best scientific practices and well-documented databases, preparing scientific programs that aim to address disability, identify its causes, and provide early detection and intervention.
