His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, reviewed the latest developments of the Center’s permanent headquarters project during a meeting of the Supervisory Committee for the Permanent Headquarters, held on Monday, 15 June 2026.
Project Award and Commencement of Construction
The meeting reviewed progress following the award of the project contract and the commencement of construction works. It was emphasized that the selection and award procedures were carried out in accordance with approved policies, regulations, and governance frameworks, reflecting the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the process.
Governance of Project Execution
The committee reaffirmed the importance of adhering to project timelines, quality standards, cost-efficiency measures, and risk management practices to ensure the project's sustainability and successful delivery.
A Headquarters that Reflects the Center’s Identity and Mission
His Royal Highness stressed the importance of ensuring that the permanent headquarters reflects the Center’s identity and mission through a modern design that promotes sustainability and energy efficiency while providing an inclusive work environment for employees, researchers, and partners.

The project reflects the Kingdom’s direction toward developing modern and sustainable institutional work environments that emphasize efficient use of resources and energy, while supporting the empowerment of persons with disabilities. It is aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in enhancing quality of life and improving institutional performance.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Abdulmohsen Abanmi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Permanent Headquarters and Chief Executive Officer of Mawakaba Investment Company, along with committee members Dr. Badr Al-Hajhouj, Executive Director of the King Salman Center for Disability Research; Eng. Abdullah Al-Rukban, Senior General Manager of the General Department of Urban Design and Development; Farouq Al-Khuzaim, Financial Advisor; and Khalid Al-Owaid, Chief Financial Officer of the Center. Also in attendance were Dr. Khalid Al-Dakhil, Assistant and Special Advisor to His Royal Highness the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Eng. Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Head of the Institutional Office.
